An activation code is a unique set of 20 characters that can be used to activate Kaspersky Internet Security 2016. The code consists of 4 blocks, each block contains 5 characters, and has the form XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX... An activation code is required to activate the commercial version of the product.

What is the key

A key is a unique set of 32 characters. The key consists of 5 blocks and looks like XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX.

Information about the key is intended primarily for obtaining technical support from Kaspersky Lab specialists by e-mail or phone, for example, to restore an activation code or to renew a license at a discount.

After you activate the application with the activation code, in the window Licensing the activation code will be displayed, but the key number. To reactivate the product, use only the activation code, not the key number.

For the convenience of working with licenses of Kaspersky Lab products, a backup code can be added in addition to the active activation code.
